The Medical Clinic offers primary health care services to all registered UC Irvine students. There is an affordable fee for utilizing services at the Medical Clinics (see Cost of Care).
The General Clinic provides a variety of primary health care services for students, including diagnosis and treatment of most acute and chronic disorders, management of injuries, as well as preventive health services for both men and women. If you are not feeling well or just have a feeling that something may be wrong with your health, make an appointment to see a clinician.
Appointments can be scheduled by calling the Student Health Center Appointment Line at 949‑824‑5304. If you have an urgent health problem, then you will be given a same day appointment or you may be seen on a walk-in basis if a medical clinic or nurse triage clinic appointment slot is available at that time. If no appointments are available at SHC during normal hours of operation and your health problem is urgent, a referral authorization to a nearby urgent care center that is in the SHIP PPO network will be generated for you so that you can receive treatment as soon as possible. See How to Make an Appointment for more information.
The general medicine clinic regularly performs basic physical exams, exams required for participation in intercollegiate sports, the Educational Abroad Program, or for employment purposes. Due to high demand, the wait time for physical exam appointments may be longer than average. If you need a physical exam, please plan ahead.
