A number of medical specialty services are available at the Student Health Center by appointment. Some require referral and others do not. You can talk with the staff in the General Clinic to determine if you need a referral to see these specialists.
One of our most active clinics, the Women's Health Clinic performs women's exams, Pap smears, screening for infections, and provides contraceptive counseling and management. Endocrine problems, abnormal pap smears, breast lumps, chronic pelvic pain, and other complex women's health problems are also evaluated and treated by the staff of our Women’s Health Clinic.
At this time, the Student Health Center has very limited availability for Dermatology services. If you have already established care with a UCI Health dermatologist or a dermatologist in the community, you may contact the SHC Insurance Services Department directly at 949-824-2388 to obtain a referral to continue to see your provider. However, many dermatologic problems can be managed by your primary care provider at Student Health Center and your out-of-pocket expenses will generally be lower. If your dermatologic issue cannot be managed by your SHC primary care provider, then he or she will refer you to a UCI Health dermatologist or another dermatologist in the community. Please call 949-824-5304 to schedule an appointment.
